Long Eared Owls have a mottled texture, hand printed with metallic lustres of gold and bronze, mixed with warm browns and cream. Kate enjoys screen printing their textures and every owl has his own patterns and colour palette.

When people visit the menagerie, it is often remarked that they look as though they are wearing eyeliner. This expressive flash of black gives their faces such personality.

Sculptures are hand printed on recycled watercolour paper, which is 300 gsm thick. The prints are cut out and glued together. They are varnished with a satin lacquer, which seals their edges and makes them easy to tickle with a feather duster. The final touch are diamante eyeballs.

They are made in several sizes: large (35 cm tall), small (22 cm tall) and baby (10 cm tall). They are arranged as wall hangings on branches and floral hoops.
