Raven on a tree stump

£415.00

This handmade raven sculpture is 41 cm (16 inches) from beak to tail. He stands on black feet made of paper covered steel wire, and his body is covered in hand cut feathers. His chest and shoulder feathers are ruffled, and gives him such character. He is one of a kind. Every raven I make comes out differently, and i’m rather fond of this one.

He perches on a handmade tree stump adorned with green and white mottled hydrangea blooms and moss. On his tree stump, this piece is 28 cm tall (11 inches). The tree stump has a cork base to protect your furniture. And he is varnished with a soft satin lacquer, which gives his feathers a subtle sheen.

Easy to care for, all he needs is a tickle from a feather or microfibre duster every now and then.

Edgar is pretty large and, at 15 cm (18 cm on his stump) wide, he might not fit on your mantelpiece shelf. He’s a broad shouldered guy! If this was a spot you were planning to keep him, I also make a smaller version, so do get in touch if you would like one.

I’ve included some photographs of the making process at my desk, so you can see how he comes to life.
