Nuthatch on a wreath of blue hydrangea flowers

£95.00
Sold Out

This paper sculpture bird art depicts a nuthatch, made from hand printed papers, perched on a wreath adorned with ice blue hydrangea flowers. The nuthatch is a grey blue back (which has metallic lustre added to the paint, which gives the effect of each feather looking more blue or more grey depending on the light) with a peach belly, with white and black striped detail around the eyes.

Hangs from the wall via a hook, suspended from the top of the wreath with a 30 cm drop of invisible fishing line.

The wreath measures 27 cm tall and wide.

Varnished with a UV protective lacquer and made with 300GSM recycled paper (which is a very sturdy cardstock).

Nuthatches spend a lot of their time upside down, and they can also walk head first down a tree trunk, because of their strong back toe, known as a hallux, which is larger than most birds of their size. Most of the UK’s population of nuthatches live in the south and Wales, but milder weather occasionally entices them as far as Scotland, so we all have a chance of spotting these beauties in our gardens or the local park.

Arrives wrapped in a box with paper ribbon, ready to give as a gift.
