Splendid Fairywren

£65.00

This charming little fella is a splendid fairywren, with his fancy feathers in many vibrant shades of blue. He measures about 15 cm from the tip of his beak to his tail, and he stands unaided on his grey wire feet.

The splendid fairywren, also called the splendid wren or the blue wren, is native to Australia. It is not technically a true wren, so is not related to our brown little cutie pies we find in our woods in the UK. Blue is my most favourite colour, and I felt compelled to make some fairywrens because I think they are delightful. I love learning about birds from other climates and countries, so I’ve been expanding my range of Little Guys. This is the first of my fairywren collection.
