Stitchwort
This stitchwort mini bouquet is part of my wildflower collection. A cluster of six stitchwort blooms sit among three leafy stems. The lowers are white, with green filaments and yellow stamens.
A round glass bottle (10 cm high) is included. The bouquet is about 22 cm tall.
I love making miniature flowers! I love meandering through the woods and spotting tiny springtime blooms. I am often inspired by a lovely walk. These little flowers are cut and collaged by hand, so every tiny flower is different from eachother.
Stitchwort gets its name from its use in the old days as a cure for stitch pains. It can often be found near growing parsley, and would be eaten together. Its prettier Latin name is Stellaria holostea, which references its star like petals. I think its an adorable petal shape.
